Angelo’s Restaurant 1830 130th Ave NE, Bellevue, WA
Join us as
Brian Blevins, PLS
presents:
Leonardo da Vinci
Military Engineer, Land Surveyor and Cartographer
Leonardo advertised himself first and foremost as a military engineer. He substantiated his claims through his surveying and cartographic art. Join us as we explore Leonardo’s vast surveying and mapping career that includes inventions of surveying tools and techniques and the creation of many beautiful and elaborate maps. We will see that Leonardo, like so many great people before and since, secured his livelihood through the art of surveying and mapping.
Mr. Blevins is an internationally recognized survey historian and has presented survey history workshops at the LSAW, WCCS, ACSM, WFPS, MARLS and UCLS conferences. He has been invited to present at this year’s FIG (Federation of International Geometers) conference in Sydney Australia where he will be speaking alongside Surveyor Generals and Chief Surveyors from around the world, including Don Buhler, Chief Surveyor for the United States.
This is an informal, informational presentation hosted by the Washington State Section of the American Congress on Surveying and Mapping.
We have limited room, so please let us know if you plan to attend by forwarding an email to ponytrouble@gmail.com as soon as possible.
Dinner meeting price is $30.00 and $10.00 for students.
