Mt. Rainier 2010 - A Scientific Expedition

A presentation of the history of the measurement of Mt. Rainier, including the GPS measurement expeditions in 1988 and 1999 and the upcoming 2010 expedition. Steven will present a slide show with breathtaking pictures from previous expeditions and will explain how the 2010 expedition will add to scientific and geodetic models for the next decade. This year’s expedition will use RTK and motion engines via the Washington State Reference Network (WSRN) as well as rapid static processing via OPUS-RS. It will also be the first expedition to measure gravity at the summit with a digital gravitometer.

We welcome all interested parties within the geospatial community! This is an informal, informational presentation hosted by the Washington State Section of the American Congress on Surveying and Mapping.
